Pancake lovers unite!
The 43rd annual Pancake Supper hosted by the Harker Heights Kiwanis Club is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 22, at the Harker Heights Elementary School Cafeteria, 726 South Ann Blvd.
“Kiwanis club members will be cookin’ up all-you-can- eat pancakes to raise funds to support the children of our community,” said Charles Sweeney, Kiwanis vice president.
Tickets are on sale now. The adult price is $6. Children younger than 12 get in for $4. Besides pancakes, the menu includes flavored syrups, Wright’s bacon, sausage, coffee, tea, juice and milk.
Door prizes provided by local businesses will be given away. Raffle items include a framed original watercolor painting by local artist Joe Friddle, a framed Ducks Unlimited print and two gift card baskets worth $125 each.
One of the programs funded by the pancake sales and raffle is five scholarships for Harker Heights High School seniors. The scholarships are co-sponsored by the Kiwanis Club and the family of the late P.R. Cox.
The funds collected also will assist the club in its continued support for the Santa Pal program, Heights Food Care Center, school supplies for needy children, C.R. Clements Boys and Girls Club, Peaceable Kingdom, Ronald McDonald House in Temple, Eastern Hills Middle School Builders Club, the Children’s Miracle Network, Indian Oaks Nursing Center and the Kiwanis International Eliminate Project to eradicate maternal and neo-natal tetanus.
