I am a first-grade teacher at Ira Cross Elementary.

I am married. I have a 7-year-old son and a grown daughter.

Where are you from originally?

I am originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

What brought you to the area?

My husband was in the military and we got stationed at Fort Hood. My husband is now retired from the United States Army.

When did you get married?

We were married in Dec. 27, 2010.

What community work do you do?

I am on the board of directors for Volunteer Killeen. We host orientations and provide resources for those interested in volunteering around the city of Killeen.

What do you like about Harker Heights?

I love Heights because of the convenience. Everything I need is in close range. It is peaceful and the people are so friendly. There are always affordable family activities and places that my 7-year-old loves to go.

What do you dislike about Harker Heights?

At this point, I don’t have anything that I dislike about Harker Heights.

What is your favorite store to shop at in Harker Heights?

My favorite place to shop at in Harker Heights is Ross and Children’s Place.

What is your favorite restaurant in Harker Heights?

My favorite restaurant in Harker Heights is Genghis Grill.

What is your most recent award?

I recently won Teacher of the Month at my school.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I will possibly still be a teacher because I love what I do and seeing the difference in the lives of students.
