Darryl Leonard, 26, is the assistant store manager at Five Guys in Harker Heights. He is also the CEO of Made of Gold Music.

Tell me about your family.

I have two boys, Darryl III, 4, and DeAndre, 1.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Opening a barber shop, a janitorial company and a clothing boutique.

What was the best advice you were ever given?

Stick to the plan. I heard this in a song by Rocko, an inspirational rapper.

What do you like about Harker Heights?

I like that it is very family-oriented city. I like that the area is nice and clean.

What do you do in the community?

I am a part of different car clubs. I donate to the battered women’s shelter. I give a select group of families meals for Thanksgiving, and my most recent thing that I have done in the community is I created the first MOG day. I was the project coordinator of the event, and myself and other organizations came together to make this event happen. At MOG day, we gave away 80 backpacks loaded with school supplies to some families in need. We also provided face painting, a live DJ, and offered free haircuts.

If you could change one thing about your life what would it be and why?

I would have invested in my education a little bit sooner ... and had a head start on some of the opportunities available now.

Are you currently in school now?

Yes. I am going to school for business management at Vista College in Killeen.
