Shauna Cremean Anduze, 35, is the creator and owner of Vixen Muscle in Harker Heights, a personal group training program designed for woman. She has been a personal trainer for 17 years.

What do you enjoy most about working in Heights?

It’s the clientele that I continue to come across. It’s a great community that supports small-business owners and small businesses. That’s one of the relationships that I’ve had a chance to grow with the community itself. Vixen Muscle and Heritage Park (Fitness) has events that we put on every year. We are so close-knit, and with a lot of surrounding areas, you don’t see that in a small city.

Where are you from?

Engle, Texas.

What brought you to this area?

When I came to the Killeen-Fort Hood area I was a military spouse, and I worked for AC Fitness about 3½ years ago. At the time, I owned a boot camp franchise and my initial goal was to develop that franchise but it wasn’t my own. That was one of the reasons why Vixen Muscle was developed.

What inspired you to get into this line of work?

My mom passed away from Crohn’s disease right before I started my freshman year of high school, and I made a promise to myself that I would not only stay physically fit but teach others how to become physically fit and how to make sure to maintain that lifestyle. I’m really inspired to help others reach their fitness goals.

What is your daily inspiration?

My mom. Even though she didn’t necessarily live the greatest and healthiest life, she had the ability to overcome a lot of things. She was a fighter. At the same time, my kids are my inspiration, because I want to be able to successfully teach them how to grow and do something that they really love and that they’re passionate about.

Tell me about your family.

I have two of the greatest children out there — Tristin, 5, and Aubrey, 4. They’re the loves of my life. I come from a very large mixed family with 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

The beach, because it’s relaxing and you don’t have to do a whole lot. Sometimes you just need a little down time.

What is your guilty pleasure?

“NCIS” is my favorite show, and I make sure I watch it every Tuesday night.

If you could change one thing about your life, what would that be?

Honestly, I wouldn’t change anything. You are put on this earth for a certain reason and your life experiences help you teach others to make better choices in their lives.
