Museum offers unique gift items

FM 2410 overlay approved
After more than a decade of focus groups, forums and public hearings, the proposed Heights Overlay District No. 1 along Farm-to-Market 2410 was approved by the City Council on Tuesday.
The overlay will follow a zoning ordinance amendment and set standards for current and future buildings, parking, signage, landscaping, screening, buffering and street appearance over the next 20 years. Read the full story at www.kdhnews.com.

City seeks donations for Giving Tree
The city of Harker Heights is partnering with the Killeen Independent School District and the Homeless Awareness Response Program to provide local children with gifts for the holidays. Those who would like to adopt a child will be provided with each child’s age, shoe and clothing sizes and wish list items. Nolanville road closures announced
Avenue H from Main Street to 10th Street will be reconstructed to a curb and gutter road. The rehabilitation of Avenue H will improve drainage, include a sidewalk and add some new lighting. Starting Jan. 6, Avenue H from Main Street to 10th Street will be closed to through traffic. Residents who live off of Avenue H between Main Street and 10th Street will be allowed access to their homes. Signage and a detour route will be set up to direct traffic around the 439 Spur to 439 and back down 10th Street.
