Puppypalooza on Sept. 6

The Harker Heights Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its fifth annual Puppypalooza event from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at the Carl Levin Park, 400 Miller’s Crossing.

The event is free and will have activities such as an agility course, pet adoptions, contests, swimming for dogs, pet products, and much more. Enter dogs in the Best Trick, Best Dressed, Dog & Owner Look-A-Like and Largest & Smallest Dog contests. Prizes will be given to first, second, and third place for each contest. Owners must keep dogs on a leash and water will be available for the dogs to drink. Call 254-953-5465 or go to www.ci.harker-heights.tx.us/parks.

Celebrate grandparents

Appreciate and celebrate grandparents at the Grandparents Day celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Harker Heights Recreation Center, 307 Miller’s Crossing. This free come-and-go event will include arts and crafts, games, cupcake decorating, and more.
