The Stewart C. Meyer Harker Heights Library is inviting the public to meet local authors and illustrators at the Authors Fair on Nov. 9.

Several local authors will set up tables in the foyer of the library and be available to speak with guests. Visitors can also buy the authors’ published works, said Lisa Reyes, reference librarian.

“This event helps the authors with their writing endeavors, and as a library we always want to endorse reading,” she said.

These special events also help boost the library’s customer base.

“Sometimes people come to a fair (and say) that have never been to the library, so they’re able to see what kind of programs we offer and check out our collection,” Reyes said.

Authors scheduled to attend the fair are Barbara Youngblood-Carr, Jazmin L. Swanson, Sidney W. Frost, Grayer Vaughan, La Shanta Charles, Sandra Duffy Oliver, Scott Roach, Boyd Taylor, Luann Smoot and Ericka Richard.

The Author’s Fair is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in conjunction with the Friends of the Library book sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The library is at 400 Indian Trail. Call Reyes at 254-953-5491.
