The city of Harker Heights will host its 14th Annual Frost Fest on Dec. 8 at the Market Heights Shopping Center.
The event, which will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the shopping center’s parking lot, will feature a musical performance by Skye Strickler, free hot chocolate and cookies, a wreath decorating contest, a visit from Santa snow, a synthetic ice skating rink, a Holiday Farmer’s Market and more.
The preceding Friday, Dec. 1, the city will have a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony on the east side of City Hall, 305 Millers Crossing.
The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with the countdown to the tree lighting starting about 5:50 p.m.
The Dec. 8 Frost Fest provides shopping opportunities and partnerships with local businesses within Market Heights.
The public will view and vote for their favorite wreath entry at Frost Fest. and first-, second- and third-place and prizes will be awarded.
An entry form must be turned in by Dec. 1.

In addition, the Harker Heights Fire Department will have a drop-off area where the public can bring new unwrapped toys for their Santa Pal program.
