Harker Heights Ladies of Charity will host the seventh annual Spring Luncheon and Style Show Benefit on April 27 to raise money for local food care centers.

The benefit, with the theme “Give My Regards to Broadway,” will feature fashions from Dillard’s modeled by members of the Ladies of Charity and their husbands, and a luncheon of New York-inspired dishes.

“We’ll be doing things that are reminiscent of New York like a Waldorf salad, a chicken and rice dish and New York Cheesecake for dessert,” said event chairperson Katie Fitzpatrick.

The Ladies of Charity is a nonprofit organization that aids local charities through fundraising, donations and ministry.

The style show is one of their many annual fundraising events. Fitzpatrick said she came up with the idea for the benefit seven years ago and has helped organize it since.

“My dream was to make it into an event that people remembered and looked forward to from one year to the next,” she said.

“People came out and had a good time, and at the same time it’s very profitable for the food center.”

Last year the benefit raised more than $8,000 for local food care centers.

As of Monday, Fitzpatrick said 200 tickets had been sold for the style show but their goal is to sell at least 300. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church or by calling (254) 291-6194.

The style show begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at St. Paul Chong Hasang Parish Center, 2412 Stillhouse Lake Road, Harker Heights.
