The Armed Services YMCA has had many great camps for kids to choose from this summer, and youth sports programs remain a popular choice. Among those is the Basketball Camp, run by ASYMCA sports director Chris Runnels himself, and he teaches more than just the sport; he teaches lifelong lessons these children can take with them wherever they go.

The first thing you notice when you enter the gym where Runnels is coaching his six charges for the day is that these kids love basketball. He gives them plenty of opportunities to take water breaks, and they use their time to shoot hoops instead.
