Voters will get the opportunity to meet candidates for Harker Heights City Council and Killeen Independent School District Board of Trustees during the Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs luncheon Thursday.

The forum will be an informative and educational event for the community, said Gina Pence, chamber president.

“This gives the community an opportunity to get to know their candidates better and ask them questions.”

The luncheon is from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Chong Hasang Parish Hall Activities Center, 1000 East Farm-to-Market 2410, Harker Heights. Reservations will be taken through Tuesday.

Vying for Heights’ top elected position of mayor are Oscar Dominguez and incumbent Mayor Rob Robinson. David Brown and John Reider are running for vacant Seat 4.

Terry Delano, Lan Carter, Aya Fubara-Eneli, Brockley Moore and Marvin Rainwater are candidates for one spot on the Killeen school board.

Pence said the forum will give candidates an opportunity to introduce themselves to potential voters by highlighting their goals and plans. A question and answer portion from audience members will round out the afternoon.

Tickets are $20. Lunch will be catered by Red’s Corner Grill. For reservations call 254-699-4999.
