A four-bed, four-staff Carter BloodCare bus will park in front of City Hall from 9 a.m. to noon today to collect pints of blood.

All donors will be entered to win two tickets to a Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars or Texas Rangers game, or to a race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, said Carter BloodCare Public Relations Manager Yesenia Olide. All donors will receive FOX Sports Southwest mini foam fingers.

The donated blood will replenish the community blood supply, as Carter serves hospitals such as Seton Medical Center and Metroplex Hospital in Killeen.

City of Harker Heights Human Resources Director Leona Clay roughly estimated 20 to 25 registrants for the last blood drive, which drew 15 donors.

“We have a blood drive every eight weeks,” said Melonie Matthewson, city HR coordinator.
