Growing to new Heights

Harker Heights has become synonymous with steady growth in the Killeen-Fort Hood area. With the city expected to reach a population of more than 58,000, Heights officials are planning for the growth and developers are breaking new ground.

Council members Tuesday voted to approve a request from Clark & Fuller LLC, an agent for the Heights Evergreen Developers LTD, for preliminary plat approval of Evergreen Phase 5, which includes building 77 single-family homes on approximately 32.28 acres.

The Harker Heights City Council also paved the way for James Herring Custom Homes to construct more multifamily housing with the approval of rezoning ordinance requests at 909 and 911 Rosewood Drive in the Wildwood Acres subdivision. Read the full story at KDHnews.com.
