Crime Trends Criminal mischief continues in city

Residents should report suspicious activity

The Harker Heights Police Department reported about 10 criminal mischief cases throughout the city in the past week. Police noticed increased criminal mischief resulting in property damage throughout the summer months.

“Criminal mischief seems to be acts of minor vandalism,” said Sgt. Roosevelt Wilson Jr., HHPD spokesman. “The crimes can be attributed mostly to random acts and not criminal episodes.”

He asked residents to immediately report any suspicious activity.

Police also indicated:

  • A theft was reported at 2 p.m. Aug. 3 in the 200 block of West Ruby Road.
  • A theft of gas was reported at 11:14 a.m. Aug. 7 at a business in the 600 block of East Central Texas Expressway.
  • A theft of gas was reported at 11:53 a.m. Aug. 7 at a business in the 2000 block of Heights Drive.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 8:45 a.m. Aug. 9 in the 100 block of Cox Drive.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 6:48 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 400 block of East Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 8:04 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 400 block of East Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 9:50 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 200 block of East Kathy Road.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 10:18 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 200 block of East Kathy Road.
  • A theft was reported at 9:55 a.m. Aug. 10 at a business in the 600 block of Indian Trail.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 1:20 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 100 block of East Beeline Lane.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 8:10 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 200 block of East Beeline Lane.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 8:34 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 900 block of Watson Lane.
  • A burglary of a residence was reported at 11:04 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 600 block of Frontier Trail.
  • A burglary of a vehicle was reported at 1 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 400 block of West Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
  • A criminal mischief and criminal trespass complaint was reported at 10:28 p.m. Aug. 10 in the 100 block of East Cherokee Drive.
  • A theft was reported at a business at 9:18 p.m. Aug. 11 in the 2000 block of Heights Drive.
