NOLANVILLE — Mary Faye McDonald, director of the Nolanville Food Pantry, and her staff made it a special holiday season for over 100 families by distributing food items prior to Christmas Day.

The free giveaways included canned vegetables in addition to turkeys and hams.

“We had a few items left over from our Thanksgiving distribution and were able to share those with several families,” McDonald said.

After the holiday rush, the greatest need for the pantry are donations of canned vegetables such as peas and pork and beans in addition to rice, and peanut butter. McDonakl said, “Any monetary donations or items are extremely appreciated right now.”

The Nolanville pantry continues to order items from the food bank in Austin which is a major supplier for smaller food pantries across Central Texas.

Nolanville Food Pantry is located at 200 N. Main St. in Nolanville. For more information on the food pantry, go to http://ci.nolanville.tx.us/default.aspx?namecity.residents_services.
