BELTON — About 7,000 visitors are expected to make their way to the Big Bell County Garage Sale on Saturday in Belton to browse through 92 vendor booths and multifamily garage sales featuring antiques, craft jewelry and textiles, electronic equipment, furniture, house wares, Texas collectibles and vintage Americana.
The annual garage sale benefits the Bell County Museum, raising funds for exhibitions, educational programs and to preserve the museum’s collection.
“The garage sale is really a giant, wonderful flea market, and has been characterized as one of the great people-watching events of the year,” said Stephanie Turnham, museum director. “It is also a great opportunity to get out with friends and family members, to do something fun, and to find some real deals.”
Admission is $3 for adults, with children 12 and younger admitted free. Parking is free and food vendors will be on hand.
“It’s a great bargain that offers the opportunity to discover hidden treasures offered by the many vendors,” Turnham said. “Plus, every family member can find something here that they just cannot live without.”
Volunteers are needed to help set up today and to sell tickets Saturday.
“It’s really lots of fun because you get to talk to so many interesting people, and you get to shop as much as you want,” Turnham said.
The Big Bell County Garage Sale is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the barn at Bell County Expo Center, 301 W. Loop 121, Belton.
