Harker Heights will host its 14th Annual Frost Fest today at the Market Heights Shopping Center.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the shopping center’s parking lot and will feature a musical performance by Skye Strickler, free hot chocolate and cookies, a wreath decorating contest, snow, a synthetic ice skating rink, a Holiday Farmer’s Market and a visit from Santa Claus.

The Frost Fest is designed to provide shopping opportunities and partnerships with local businesses within Market Heights.

During the event, the public will view and vote for their favorite wreath entry. and first-, second- and third-place and prizes will be awarded.

In addition, the Harker Heights Fire Department will have a drop-off area where the public can bring new unwrapped toys for the department’s Santa Pal program.

Toy donations can also be delivered to the Harker Heights Fire Department through Dec, 18.

Drop-off times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The new and unwrapped toys should be age appropriate for kids 17 and under.
