Crime Trends Heights robbery suspect at large

The Harker Heights Police Department is searching for a man responsible for a robbery that occurred June 29 at the corner of Indian Trail and East Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

The suspect allegedly used a socket wrench to assault the victim before taking the victim’s property, said Sgt. Roosevelt Wilson, police spokesman. The man is described as Hispanic and was last seen driving a maroon 2003 Chevy Tahoe.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact police.

HHPD responded to a total of 1,117 calls for service last week, and officers continue to step up patrolling various areas throughout the city to deter property crimes, Wilson said.

Police also indicated:

  • A theft was reported at 10:19 a.m. June 25 at a building in the 100 block of North Roy Reynolds Drive. Suspects took several hundred dollars worth of copper and damaged property.
  • A theft was reported at 4 p.m. June 21 in the 800 block of West Central Texas Expressway.
  • A burglary of a vehicle was reported at 9:50 p.m. June 26 in the 400 block of Wrought Iron Drive. Suspects broke into the vehicle and took sub woofers and an amplifier.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 10:41 p.m. June 26 in the 2300 block of Modoc Drive.
  • A theft of a vehicle was reported at 4:04 a.m. June 27 in the 100 block of West Mockingbird Lane.
  • A theft was reported at 6:10 p.m. June 27 in the 400 block of North Ann Blvd.
  • A theft was reported at a business at 9:22 a.m. June 27 in the 2000 block of Heights Drive.
  • A burglary of a vehicle was reported at 8:30 a.m. June 27 in the 100 block of East Cardinal Lane.
  • A burglary of a residence was reported at 12:51 p.m. June 28 along Country Drive. Suspects stole a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a Springfield rifle, a Remington .22 Caliber rifle, a Savage rifle, a 2002 blue Chevy Impala, a computer and an iPad.
  • A burglary of a residence was reported at 2 p.m. June 28 in the 100 block of East Nolan Trail.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 2:06 p.m. June 28 in the 900 block of Maplewood Drive.
  • A burglary of a residence was reported at 2:51 p.m. June 28 in the 1600 block of Aztec Trace.
  • A theft was reported at 4:40 p.m. June 28 in the 800 block of West Central Texas Expressway.
  • A theft was reported at a business at 5:03 p.m. June 24 in the 200 block of East Central Texas Expressway.
  • A burglary of a vehicle was reported at 6 a.m. June 28 in the 500 block of West Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
  • A theft was reported at a business at 10:45 a.m. June 20 in the 200 block of East Central Texas Expressway.
  • A criminal mischief complaint was reported at 10:40 a.m. July 1 in the 100 block of East Cherokee Drive.
  • A theft was reported at a business at 4:22 p.m. July 1 in the 2000 block of Heights Drive.
