The Harker Heights Lions Club installed new officers June 26.
Lawrence Sanchez, governor-elect of District 2X3, swore in the new officers —President Andrew Womack; Vice President Chevon Jessamine; Immediate Past President Susan Goodwill; directors Lety Ford, Kerina Jessamine and Nancy Romfh; Secretary Janice Tooke; Treasurer Jeff Buss; Muscular Dystrophy Association Chairperson Ursula Pyrtle; and Lion Tamer Glenn Gallenstein.
Goodwill thanked the membership for allowing her to preside for the past two years and for the personal support she received during that time.
“I am excited and we are going to have an amazing year,” Womack said. “Susan brought us to this great place, and now we move on to the next great place. Follow me as I follow Christ.”
In other business, the Lions Club announced that Janice Tooke was elected governor of Second Vice District 2X3. She began serving Monday.
“Fourteen of our 22 Lion members were at the convention in April when I was in the running for the leadership position,” she said.
The Lions Club meets at noon on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month at the IHOP on Central Texas Expressway in Heights. The next meeting is Wednesday.
