Nolanville Elementary Spring Fling

The Nolanville Elementary Spring Fling is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Nolanville Elementary School, 901 Old Nolanville Road. There will be games, food, prizes, cake walk, silent auction and vendors. Call Jessica Beeman at 254-535-1694.

Road work/construction

Beginning Monday, Emerson Construction will be constructing two deceleration-right turn lanes on Farm-to-Market 2410 into the new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market. Work will begin at 7 a.m. each morning and end at 7 p.m. each evening. The project will take about two weeks to complete.

City election information

The city of Harker Heights will conduct an election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 10 at the Recreation Center, 307 Miller’s Crossing, to elect a mayor and council member, Place 4. Early voting will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Monday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, Administration Department, 305 Miller’s Crossing.

Movie day

The Belton Senior Activity Center will have movie day at 12:30 p.m. May 13. The featured movie will be “Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds.” This activity is open to all area seniors and their guests. Popcorn and drinks will be provided free of charge. Call 254-939-1170.

Swim lessons

Swim-lesson registration begins Saturday. Go to or register in person at the Harker Heights Recreation Center, 300 Millers Crossing. Call 254-953-5657.

Sign-ups end Monday

Registration for the Harker Heights Parks and Recreation’s Superhero Adaptive Sports Recreation Program Superhero basketball league runs through Monday. The league will offer three levels of participation including introduction to the program basics, structured practice and structured scrimmage play. The season begins Monday.
