Celebrating 15 years of worship

The First Church in Harker Heights, 2314 Indian Trail, will have its 15th anniversary services Saturday and Sunday. Call 254-698-4660.

Temple College to host art competition

The Temple College art department will host the 34th annual Central Texas Art Competition and Exhibition Nov. 16 to Dec. 2. Entries will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 11-12 at the TC Visual Arts Complex.

The juried competition is open to students enrolled in ninth grade through college, with separate divisions for high school and college students. The competition will offer six $100 awards of excellence and two $50 honorable mention awards in each division. There also will be two $150 juror’s awards.

Types of works accepted are original paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, drawings, prints and jewelry. For more information, call the TC art department at 254-298-8573 or go to www.templejc.edu.

Guns and Hoses softball game

The third annual Guns and Hoses softball game between the Nolanville Police Department and Central Bell County Fire and Rescue is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Nolanville City Park.
