Annual Heart Walk on Saturday

Seton Medical Center Harker Heights plans its second annual Heart Walk to benefit the American Heart Association on Saturday.

Prescription drug take-back Saturday

Area residents will be able to dispose of their unwanted or unneeded prescription medication at the Harker Heights Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

This program provides a venue for people who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Gym offers yoga for pregnant women

Heritage Park Fitness hosts a prenatal yoga instructional clinic at 10 a.m. Saturday at the gym, 903 Mountain Lion Road in Harker Heights. The class is free and open to the public.

Lemonade Day taste test Saturday

Come out to sample lemonade from budding entrepreneurs during the Best Tasting Lemonade Contest from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Purser Park, 100 W. Mountain Lion Road in Harker Heights.

Prizes will be awarded for best overall tasting, most unique lemonade, and best lemonade presentation.

Mayor Rob Robinson will help determine the winners.

Belton Senior Center plans health fair

The Belton Senior Activity Center plans a Health and Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at 842 S. Mitchell St. in Belton. The health fair will feature screenings for blood pressure, pulse, oxygen, blood sugar, educational presentations for health services and vendors for all types of services relating to seniors and their health. National Day of Prayer is Thursday

Sign-ups end May 5 for basketball league for children with special needs

Registration for the Harker Heights Parks and Recreation’s Superhero Adaptive Sports Recreation Program’s Superhero Basketball league runs through May 5. The league will include three levels of participation for each player to include introduction to the program basics taught by experienced peers and coaches, structured practice including warm-ups and drills and structured scrimmage play. The season begins May 5.
