NOLANVILLE — A new park, complete with a swingset, a climber and a slide, is ready for children of all ages.
The park, located behind the J.W. Sims Community Center, was made possible from funds the Nolanville City Council allocated to establish a park system. The project cost $20,000, said City Manager Stephen Pearl.
“It’s in an area the city already maintains and mows, it already has plenty of parking and we didn’t need to purchase additional land to make it happen,” he said. “All we had to do was put equipment on it and add some trash cans.”
This isn’t the last park residents will see. Pearl said their goal is to create a park system throughout the city.
“Residents are so happy to have this park,” Nolanville Mayor Christina Rosenthal said. “I was quite tickled to see people using it as soon as the crews were done putting it in.”
