Prospector Storage will host its second annual multiunit garage sale for tenants and nonprofits from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

“Tenants have asked us to hold an on-site garage sale. So we did, and included a block party,” said Prospector Storage owner Lisa Parker. “Last year the turnout was so good, we knew we would do it again.”

Parker said not only does this event help their tenants to de-clutter their homes and storage units, but it also serves to help local nonprofits raise money.

“Last year one youth group raised over $1,200 for their summer mission trip,” she said. “We drew in over 1,000 shoppers and hope for the same turnout this year.”

Vendors include 22 tenants and nonprofits to include Memorial Baptist Youth Group and the Harker Heights Equipment Exchange Program.

The garage sale will consist of more than buying and selling, as Heritage Park Fitness will conduct “bobbing for Easter eggs” for children. Also, there will be a photo booth offered by Captured by Lisa, Jump Around bounce houses, Central Texas Orthodontic with their snow cone van, Big Hills Mobile Detailing, music from The Party Mixer DJ and the TapTap Art School bus. Managers of the Harker Heights Sam’s Club will give away water, said Parker.

More vendors will sell items like homemade quilts, jewelry and much more.

“We still have room for vendors and nonprofits,” she said. “We decided to make it more of a party and it’s not a storage auction.”

People can shop, buy snow cones and sandwiches, Parker said.
