About 100 Harker Heights Rotary Club members, wives and other guests met and dined June 27 for the annual installation of new officers and awards ceremony at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Heights.

Evan Hodson won Rotarian of the Year.

“This is a high honor and I am very humbled,” he said.

The new leadership includes President Jennifer McCann; President-elect Eloise Lundgren; Vice President Evan Hodson; Secretary Don Nicholas; Treasurer Tom Creek; and Sergeant-at-Arms Travis Knight.

Directors inducted were Linda Dillard, Otis Evans, Kyle Jeter, Brian Radliff and Howard Ray.

McCann’s goals include growing the membership and expanding the demographics of the club. She plans to sponsor fundraisers and membership drives.

“I especially want people to come to breakfast and be excited about being there,” she said. “It’s going to be a fun way to start the day off right.”

Individual awards were presented to club members who have recently contributed at least $1,000 to the foundation, distinguishing them as Paul Parris Fellows. Those included Roger Segall and the Rev. Lou Best.

Rotarian Dr. Ed Mullins presented the White Hats, the next level of contributors.

“We have a lady in our club who has two white hats,” Mullins said. “She is Eloise Lundgren who has contributed $10,000 to the foundation.”

The next meeting of the Heights Rotary Club is 7 a.m. Thursday.
