In this file photo, Tuscany Meadows resident Ronald Mandeville said he saw several dead fish in Trimmier Creek on Wednesday, downstream from where an overflowing manhole covered poured out sewage for several hours Tuesday night.

Harker Heights and state officials are continuing to look into a system failure at the Trimmier Creek Lift Station that caused roughly 17,500 gallons of sewage to overflow into the Trimmier Creek tributary near a residential subdivision Tuesday.

Hundreds of fish were killed in the spill, officials said.
