The Harker Heights Police Department has noticed an increase in property crime this week, Sgt. Roosevelt Wilson said. The high number of reports varied from burglaries to thefts and criminal mischiefs.

The police department received about 1,150 calls in the past week, coinciding with the start of the summer months, Wilson said.

“Criminal mischiefs can be attributed mostly to random acts and not criminal episodes.”

No arrests have been made in the dozens of crimes reported this week. Anyone with information can call (254) 953-5400.
