Shannon Ashe, Tablerock board of directors member, will direct Tablerock’s 24th annual performances of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at the Goodnight Amphitheater on Royal Street in Salado.

Dates for the production are today, Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10. Show begins at 7 p.m.

Shannon Ashe lives in Salado with her husband, Rick, and previously served as director and as an assistant director for Tablerock’s production of “A Christmas Carol.”

Ashe is a member of the Tablerock board of directors, a member of PALS, was elected as a village alderman for two years and is a tour agent for a Temple travel agency.

“A Christmas Carol” has a cast and crew of 60, some newcomers to the play and a handful who have been associated with the play since its inception, 24 years ago.

“A Christmas Carol” was adapted to the stage by Harry Sweet. Sweet, the director of Carol for 15 years and a retired ethics professor at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor said, “No one can improve on Dickens’ works,” so the show remains pure Dickens, to the delight of all who come back year after year to enjoy the production.

Ashe agrees with Sweet’s theory about Dicken’s and plans to “Keep the play true to Dickens.”

Performances will begin at 7 p.m. each evening at Tablerock’s Goodnight Amphitheater, located on Royal Street in Salado.

Tickets are available at the gate: $10 for adults, $5 for students and $3 for children 12 and under.

Tickets may be purchased on line at or at the gate the night of each performance.

The concession stand opens at 6:30 for sandwiches, cold and hot drinks, chips and candy.
