Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce Vision XXI-2018 will start another year of educational experiences and leadership training on Thursday, with Orientation Day, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, 300 Cheyenne Drive in Killeen.
Mary Shabunia, chamber vice-president for business retention, and coordinator of Vision XXI-2018, reports that there will be seven scheduled days of meetings throughout the coming months. The eighth day is the class graduation ceremony.
In addition to Orientation Day, the class will take part in Fort Hood Day-April 5, Education Day-May 3, Medical Day-June 7, Quality of Life Day-July 12, Economic Day-Aug. 2, Legislative Day-Sept. 13 and Graduation Day-Oct. 4.
Vision XXI-2018 classes meet the first Thursday of each month, except during July and September.
“The goal of Vision XXI has always been to partner wlth local leaders and key organizations to produce a shared vision of growing the future of Harker Heights,” Shabunia said.
Community and business leaders who have enrolled in the class will be joined by a group of Harker Heights High School students. The Vision XXI Youth Club teams up the students with local leaders and the chamber leadership.
