Trash services delayed

Waste Management will observe the holiday on New Year’s, with normal Wednesday pickup on Jan. 2 and normal Friday and Saturday pickup Jan. 4.

Normal schedules resume Jan. 6.

Light Up Nolanville winners named

City Manager Stephen Pearl and Mayor Christina Rosenthal drove around city limits Dec. 12 to see which residents decked their halls the best.

The contest, which is in its third year, has a simple judging criteria: The top three most decorated houses win. Despite being notified about their winning displays before the meeting, none of the winners was present at the council meeting Dec. 19. Winners will receive a certificate and a trophy.

In other council business, council members voted to re-elect Sherri Morales as the mayor pro tem.

Holiday closures announced

Harker Heights City Hall will close at noon Tuesday for New Year’s Eve and will remain closed Wednesday for New Year’s Day. Normal hours resume Thursday.

Board, commission members needed

Nolanville is seeking a member for the Nolanville Economic Development Board and two alternate members for the Planning and Zoning Commission. Call City Hall at 254-698-6335 to volunteer.
