Heights library, Barnes & Noble partnering for Library Day event

The Stewart C. Meyer Harker Heights Public Library and the Market Heights Barnes and Noble are celebrating Library Day.

Join the staff of the library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for a day of fun and festivities at Barnes and Noble.

Support the Harker Heights Friends of the Library in continuing to provide quality special programs and seasonal activities by mentioning the library when making a purchase.

Special activities are scheduled during Library Day at Barnes and Noble.

Cookie aficionados and detectives can find out how the chocolate chips fall with the Cookie Fiasco Story Time at 11 a.m. Songs, stories, and a craft project are sure to please kids and dessert foodies. For information, call 254-953-5491.

Trekkers, Rebels, and other space enthusiasts can celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Star Trek and another season of Star Wars Rebels with an out of this world afternoon of cosplay, trivia, coloring, and a galaxy’s worth of Star Tales at 2 p.m. For information, call 254-953-5491.

The week continues with Lap Sit at 9 and 10 a.m. Monday. Newborns to 18 months, along with parents, enjoy stories, songs, and nursery rhymes.

Toddler Time offers stories, songs, dance, puppet finger plays at 9 a.m. Thursday for children up to age three.

Storytime, at 10 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, engages children three and older with stories, songs, puppets, and crafts.

Homeschool Club sparks the interest of 6- to 10-year-olds at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Science Club explores a new science this week at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Everyone in the family can be a Busy Builder using Legos, and Manga tiles at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Book Discussion Club has picked its October reading selection: “Miracle Man,” by William R. Liebowitz.
