BASTROP — Anjane Janda led with 12 kills while Shantraie Rodriguez, Daysia Burden and Kathleen Janda combined for 15 blocks as Harker Heights held off District 8-5A rival Temple on Friday to win its pool and advance to today’s championship game at the Cedar Creek Classic.

The Lady Knights (15-2) won their first match of the day by forfeit against Rockdale and then easily dispatched Smithville 25-8, 25-10 before the Tem-Cats took Heights to three games, 25-10, 23-25, 25-20 to remain undefeated in the tournament.

Senior setter Katie Schulte led with 39 assists while Janda finished with 18 total kills and Jordan Denney had 21 digs over the two games Friday.

The Lady Knights take on Victoria West in the title game at 1 p.m. today.
