Anjane Janda led with 15 kills and two aces, fellow 6-footer Shantraie Rodriguez added 10 kills and a team-high six blocks and libero Jordan Denney had 32 digs as Harker Heights continued its strong early-season play Tuesday night with a 25-18, 25-17, 20-25, 25-15 victory over host Georgetown Eastview.

“We were able to control the match and handle our side of the court for most of the match tonight,” Heights coach Chris Wiley said. “Our team is playing quality volleyball right now, but we know there are still areas we need to improve in.”

Lady Knights senior setter Katie Schulte had 34 assists to go along with two kills and two aces of her own, while Caitlyn Young added six kills, Kathleen Janda had five blocks and Amanda Bailey added 12 digs.

The Lady Knights (17-3) will host the Pure Energy Classic on Thursday and Saturday with Ellison, Florence, Salado, Shoemaker and Lampasas among the area teams coming.

Belton def. Lorena, 25-18, 25-20, 25-18 — At Lorena, Brieanne Brown had seven kills and 14 digs, Machaela Moore had 12 assists and seven digs and the Lady Tigers swept Lorena on Tuesday to improve to 13-6. Brown also had five blocks and a pair of aces, Kinsey Williams had 15 digs and three kills and Monica Gonzalez had seven blocks and four kills for Belton, which plays at Marble Falls on Sept. 4.
