  • April Lawrence Grant, a New Jersey native, graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications with concentration on journalism. Her background spans the fields of communications, marketing, development and customer service. She has worked as a contributor for Examiner.com, an online news and entertainment website, and a web producer for local NBC affiliate KCEN. As a member of KDHConnects, she writes feature stories, news stories and covers events for KDH Media Group publications and websites.

  • Bob Massey, 60, joined the KDHConnects network in December 2012. He is the designated correspondent for the Harker Heights Herald, where he covers civic organizations, the Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce and other events. His photos and stories also appear in the Killeen Daily Herald. Massey served as the public information officer for the Killeen Independent School District for 21 years. Before retiring in 2011, he also worked as a producer, writer, announcer, video editor and videographer for KISD-TV, the school district’s cable access television station. Massey sings in several vocal groups, including The Texas Country Gentleman Barbers

  • Bob Maindelle is a professional fishing guide with over 22 years of experience fishing Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow Reservoirs. Through his small business, Holding the Line Guide Service, he guides clients of all ages and ability levels on 145-155 trips per year, typically catching & releasing 10-12,000 fish annually. Bob also writes the KDH fishing column “Guide Lines” for the Sunday sports section.

  • Gail Dillon, an Army spouse, writes about life at Fort Hood from a spouse's perspective. She has been married to her soldier for 14 years and lives on Fort Hood with him, their two zany sons and a Goldendoodle named Murphy.

  • Jodi Perry, 42, joined KDHConnects network in June 2013. A Colorado native, Jodi lived in Saudi Arabia prior to her Texas residency and has traveled the world extensively. Her love for photography began when her children were younger and has grown into a professional skill that continues to open new doors for her. Her pictures can be seen gracing the walls of homes in Central Texas in KDH Media Group publications and websites.

  • Marie Rivers, an Army veteran, graduated from Howard University with a bachelor’s degree in fashion design. Along with writing feature stories for KDHConnects, she enjoys tennis, sewing and photography. She is currently researching the Chinese language and plans to write a book about its heritage and similarities to other ancient cultures. She and her husband, Ron, have lived in Killeen since 1997.

  • Kathryn Leisinger, 42, joined the KDHConnects network in December 2012. She writes a monthly column – “Dog Tales” – and feature stories for the Harker Heights Herald and and other KDH Media Group publications. Before settling in Harker Heights, she served in the U.S. Army and lived in many states as a military spouse. In 2012, she started School of Wags, a nonprofit large dog rescue organization, where she serves as president and “Dean of Wags.” Kathryn lives in Harker Heights with her husband, four children and numerous mastiffs. www.SchoolofWags.com
