BELTON — Bekah Alcozer and Skylar Stewart both hit home runs to help the Belton Lady Tigers rebound from Tuesday’s loss to Waco Midway with an 11-1 victory over Harker Heights on Thursday.

“We were all dejected Tuesday, mostly with how we lost it,” Belton coach Matt Blackburn said, referring to the 1-0 loss at Midway. “We were hoping to see more line drives.”

Belton (14-10, 7-1 8-5A) cranked out 10 hits and got a five-hit pitching performance from Alex Wilson (3-4) to get the win.

Heights (8-21, 2-6) scored its lone run in the third when Madison Stanley came home on a throwing error. It’s only the third run the Lady Tigers have yielded in district play.

The Lady Tigers were already ahead 5-0 when Alcozer turned on a 1-0 pitch from Heights pitcher Brianna Smith in the third inning.

Stewart gave the Lady Tigers a 10-run spread with her two-run shot in the fourth. that cleared left-field wall.
