At Round Rock, the Tigers closed out play at the Langerhans Invitational with a victory over Lewisville.

Sophomore pitcher Shane Stafford tossed a five-hitter to earn his first varsity win. Jared Janczak sparked the Tigers’ offense with a three-run triple in Belton’s four-run fourth inning.

Mark Herrington and Cameron Cooper each went 3-for-4, Chase Sortor was 2-for-2 and Chase Cryer also had a pair of hits and drove in a run for Belton (4-6-1). The Tigers begin District 8-5A play on Tuesday as they visit Harker Heights.
