HEWITT  Ellison kept the Waco Midway Panthers close enough, but when the Eagles cut a five-run deficit to three, the Panthers answered and beat Ellison 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Ellison scored a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning to cut the Panthers’ lead to 5-2, but Midway answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to hold the Eagles at bay.

Kramer Robertson was 3 for 3 with a double and a home run to lead the Panthers (14-10, 8-1 8-5A). With the win, Midway reclaimed a share of the District 8-5A lead with Belton.

Tanner Bark was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI to lead Ellison (6-18, 3-6), which has lost three straight since rallying to beat Killeen on March 26.
