Belton offensive lineman Justin Murphy committed to play college football at Texas Tech on Monday.

According to the recruiting website Rivals.com, Murphy, a 6-foot-8, 276-pound offensive tackle, gave the Red Raiders a “solid verbal” commitment.

“Officially a Texas Tech Raider. Committed to the University of Texas Tech! #redraider #commit #gunsup,” Murphy tweeted Monday afternoon.

In addition to Texas Tech, Murphy received offers from Central Arkansas, Houston, New Mexico, North Texas, Rice, SMU and Texas State.

Murphy is a Rivals two-star recruit who will graduate next year.
