Bryan Waller was named new head softball coach at Copperas Cove, replacing Shelly Hayes, who resigned in late April.

Waller is leaving San Antonio East Central, where he posted a 21-12 record and reached the area round of the Class 5A playoffs last year.

Prior to coaching the Hornets, Waller had head coaching jobs at Pettus, Gorman, McGregor, Pottsboro and Early.

The Lady Bulldawgs are coming off an 18-17 season and finished fourth in District 8-5A with an 8-6 record, reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
