After defeating Cedar Hill 53-33 in the Class 5-A bi-district round Tuesday, Harker Heights head coach Celneque Bobbitt said, “We’re going to take this one, because it’s been two years since we won a bi-district game, and I’m just so proud of these kids.”

Now, No. 11 Heights will meet No. 19 Flower Mound Marcus at 6 p.m. Friday at Glen Rose High School. Marcus, the runner-up in District 5-5A, reached the area round with a convincing win, defeating Irving 75-44. The winner of the Heights-Marcus contest Friday will face the winner of No. 2 DeSoto-Lewisville in the regional quarterfinals.

Heights is seeking its first trip to the regional quarterfinals since 2011, when it came within a game of the regional tournament before losing to eventual state runner-up Garland Lakeview Centennial.

The Knights feel they have momentum after defeating Cedar Hill by 20 points Tuesday, the same Cedar Hill team they defeated by four in the Austin Westlake Holiday Classic in December.
