Cooke, Salado teams win 22-2A cross country crowns

Alex Cooke took first overall in 16 minutes, 25 seconds to lead five Eagles runners in top-seven overall finishes as Salado easily swept both the boys and girls district crowns at the District 22-2A cross country meet Monday at Tenroc Ranch in Salado.

The Eagles blew away second-place Cameron Yoe by more than half, 22 to 49, while Florence finished third with 102 points. In the girls division, Salado edged Little River-Academy 38 to 43, with two runners in the top three.
