Harker Heights pitcher Caleb Dean baffled Midway, striking out seven batters and allowed one earned run, six hits and three walks over 7 2/3 innings.

But, the Panthers were just as good. Nathan Gonzales and Case Smith combined for eight innings, striking out seven and only allowing five hits in the 2-1 extra-inning win. Harrison Minor singled home Kramer Robertson in the eighth inning to win the game for Midway (16-10, 12-1 8-5A).

Harker Heights (12-13, 6-7) was led at the plate by Dean and Robby Sluss, who both had two hits.
