Diederich leads Eagles past Timberview

Nathan Diederich scored the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute to lift the Ellison Eagles to a 2-1 win over Mansfield Timberview on Thursday at the Northwest Invitational soccer tournament in Justin. The Eagles (1-0) led 1-0 at halftime after Ryan Stuckey’s unassisted goal in the 20th minute, but Timberview scored early in the second half to tie the game 1-1 in the 52nd minute. Stuckey assisted Diederich’s goal Ellison plays Colleyville Heritage today at 10 a.m. at Texan Field.
