At Cedar Park, Ellison notched its first victory of the season by getting a little revenge in the process, knocking off Gatesville in the third pool-play game at the Round Rock Westwood Warrior Classic at the Austin Sports Center.

The Lady Eagles (1-3), which fell to Gatesville in five sets on Tuesday, beat the Hornets 25-22, 20-25, 25-14 behind 11 kills by junior Alysia Espada. Senior Bailey Wade had four kills and three blocks, and junior Brianna Gray added 10 blocks. The win followed losses to Pflugerville Hendrickson (25-8, 25-10) and Leander (25-10, 25-16).

Gatesville (1-3) finished 0-3 in pool play with losses to Leander (25-16, 25-15) and Hendrickson (25-11, 25-16).

Belton went 1-2, opening with losses to Lake Travis (25-16, 25-16) and El Paso Coronado (26-24, 25-21) before a 25-22, 25-18 win over San Antonio Episcopal.

Temple went 0-3 beginning with a 25-6, 25-15 loss to host Round Rock Westwood before falling to Seguin (25-14, 25-16) and Llano (25-9, 25-21).

The Lady Eagles play District 8-5A rival Temple (0-5) at 9 a.m. followed by Navasota at 11 and then Gatesville for the third time in the last four days at 2 p.m. Belton (2-2) plays Leander at 10 a.m. followed by Westwood at 11.
