Ellison High School athletic coordinator and football coach Buddy McBryde submitted his resignation Friday, effective at the end of his contract.
McBryde guided the Eagles the last five seasons, compiling a 13-37 record. Ellison was winless the last two seasons, going 0-20.
The Eagles lost their final game under McBryde 27-14 to Shoemaker.
“I have enjoyed my over seven years teaching and coaching at Ellison, though I have decided to make a change in my career. I am resigning as of the end of the current 2012-2013 contract year.” Coach Buddy McBryde said in a press release sent out by the Killeen Independent School District.
“I want to thank Mr. David Dominguez, Mr. Marvin Rainwater and Coach Tom Rogers for having been excellent leaders over these past several years. My greatest achievement is having positively affected the lives of so many young students and student-athletes at Ellison High School.”
KISD is expected to begin the search for a new campus athletic coordinator and football coach immediately.
“We would like to thank Coach McBryde for his dedicated service to the kids and staff at Ellison High School and his loyalty to the KISD Athletic department," said KISD Executive Director of Athletics Tom Rogers. "We wish him luck as he moves forward in his next endeavor to help kids be productive citizens. We will begin our search for his replacement as soon as possible so the transition to new leadership at Ellison High School athletics will be as seamless as possible.”
