At Rockdale, the Tigers scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and rolled passed Salado in the season-opener for both teams.

Rockdale (1-0) led 40-14 at halftime and totalled nearly 500 yards of offense.

Salado quarterback McClane Carter completed 15 of 25 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns. But Rockdale led 20-0 before Carter threw his first touchdown — a 60-yarder to Jacob Little — in the first quarter.

The Tigers scored once more in the first for a 27-7 lead and twice more in the second.

Carter threw touchdown passes of 29 and 14 in the third and fourth quarters.
