JARRELL — Salado made defense look routine, while Jarrell’s was anything but.

Salado junior ace Casey Frazier put in a solid night’s work as the Eagles downed Jarrell 6-2 in a District 22-2A game at Jarrell Sports Complex.

Frazier pitched a complete game to improve to 7-0 this season, recording five strikeouts while allowing six hits and no walks.

Yet it was defense that kept the game from being closer. No. 2-ranked Salado (23-3, 9-1) made no errors in avenging its only district loss of this season, a 3-2 loss to Jarrell on March 19. Meanwhile, the Cougars made three errors leading to three unearned runs.

“I was just trying to throw strikes and have my defense make plays,” Frazier said. “We had great defense. I give a big thank you to them.”
