TEMPLE – The Harker Heights Lady Knights didn't need a miracle to win their first track championship in five years; they just needed a final relay and a lot of heart. But a 10-foot, six-inch pole vault wouldn't have hurt either.
Harker Heights' Taylor Mircle won the JV girls pole vault with a lift of exactly that – a foot and a half higher than A&M Consolidated's second-place follower – while the varsity Lady Knights sat-out the event because of University Interscholastic League rules.
