LONG DRIVE QUALIFYING COMING

The G3 Driving Range in Nolanville is hosting one more RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship qualifier July 28. Area golfers are invited to tee it up in the driving distance competition and try to advance to the regional qualifier. Competition takes place in the Open (any age) Division.

The entry fee is $40 and includes six attempts. Golfers may enter multiple times.

DAWG BASEBALL CAMP SET this week

Baseball players entering grades 1-9 are invited to attend the Dawg Baseball Camp set for Monday through Thursday at Bulldawg Field.

Camp sessions are from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for athletes going into grades 1-6 and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for campers entering grades 7-9.

The registration fee is $50, which includes a camp T-shirt, a certificate and competition prizes. Campers need to bring a glove, athletic shoes (cleats preferred) and any other baseball gear. Concessions will be available.

Cove Football camp set for august

Future Copperas Cove Bulldawg football players are invited to attend the 2014 Bulldawg Football Camps.

The NFL Football Camp for incoming seventh- through ninth-graders will be held Aug. 4-8 at Bulldawg Stadium.

Hours will be 8 a.m. to noon.

The cost is $65 per camper, with partial scholarships available.

Applications and payment will be accepted up to the first day of camp.

Each athlete will receive a camp T-shirt. Campers should bring shorts, cleats (if possible) or tennis shoes, a hat and sunscreen.

Mr. Sunshine Tennis Camp dates set

The Heart of Texas Tennis Coaches Association has set dates for its annual camps, Mr. Sunshine’s Tennis Funtime.

The four-day morning camps will be conducted at various area locations this month.

The cost is $60 for beginner and intermediate players, and $75 for advanced players and includes a T-shirt. The camps will be conducted by Brit “Mr. Sunshine” Coleman and other area pros, coaches and college players.

CCHS football tickets on sale

Season tickets for Copperas Cove High School’s home football games will be on sale from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Copperas Cove High School athletic annex. This will be the final chance for fans to purchase tickets before the season begins Aug. 29.

The cost is $30 for five home games, including A&M Consolidated (Aug. 29), Lake Travis (Sept. 5), Killeen High (Sept. 26), Ellison (Oct. 10) and Harker Heights (Oct. 24). For more information, contact Becky Jewell at 254-547-4111.

GIRLS PLAY FREE at CLEAR CREEK

The Courses of Clear Creek at Fort Hood is offering free green fees Monday through Sunday to junior girls accompanied by a paying adult. For each round of golf played, girls between the ages of 3-17 will be given an entry form for a drawing at the end of the week.

Age-appropriate prizes will be given out in three age groups (3-7, 8-13 and 13-17).

The golf course, and the promotion, are open to the public.
