Future Copperas Cove Bulldawg football players are invited to attend the 2014 Bulldawg Football Camps.

The NFL Football Camp for incoming seventh- through ninth-graders will be held Aug. 4-8 at Bulldawg Stadium.

Hours will be 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $65 per camper, with partial scholarships available.

Applications and payment will be accepted up to the first day of camp. Each athlete will receive a camp T-shirt. Campers should bring shorts, cleats (if possible) or tennis shoes, a hat and sunscreen. For more information on the camps, contact camp director Shay Adams or Becky Jewell at 254-547-4111.


The G3 Driving Range in Nolanville is hosting one more RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship qualifier July 28. Area golfers are invited to tee it up in the driving distance competition and try to advance to the regional qualifier. Competition takes place in the Open (any age) Division.

The entry fee is $40 and includes six attempts. Golfers may enter multiple times. For more information, call Melvin Brown at 254-285-1908.


The Heart of Texas Tennis Coaches Association has set dates for its annual camps, Mr. Sunshine’s Tennis Funtime. The four-day morning camps will be conducted at various area locations this month. The cost is $60 for beginner and intermediate players, and $75 for advanced players and includes a T-shirt. The camps will be conducted by Brit “Mr. Sunshine” Coleman and other area pros, coaches and college players.
